From individual pizzas to family pies pre-baked pizza dough is the way to go.

It’s the quickest and cleanest way to do Pizza Friday. Rolling out pizza dough requires some serious muscles and can make a mess.

Another thing that is great about Pizza Fridays is that it lets me make use of the leftovers in the house. I’m a fan of leftover makeovers. So, several of these recipes use leftovers. Like the BBQ Chicken Recipe and the meatball recipe. To make life a bit less hectic during the week, we typically cook several meals on Sunday. That sometimes includes roasting a whole chicken. With a large family, we make every moment and every penny count. Waste not, want not right? So not only is that leftover chicken used to make a delicious Waldorf Salad it’s also used to make our BBQ chicken pizza. I know. It’s a genius way to get everyone to eat leftovers.

5 Easy and Fun Pizza Recipes For Kids

1. BBQ Chicken Pizza

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups leftover roasted chicken, chopped
  • ¾ cup of bbq sauce
  • pre-baked pizza crust (6 individual or 1 large)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 /4 cup fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/8 cup sliced red onion (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a medium-sized bowl, add roasted and barbeque sauce and mix until well coated.

Next, add bbq chicken to pizza.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over chicken.

Place pizza on a large baking sheet or pizza stone and bake until the cheese has started to melt.

Top with fresh cilantro and sliced onion.

The kids’ pizzas are typically cilantro and onion free but one pizza they love veggies on is a tomato and basil pizza. It’s super simple to make and can be made on a Panini press if you don’t allow your children to use the stove. My littles love this pizza (and veggies) because we have a garden. They are used to going out and picking their fruits and veggies right off the vine. Pizza is a great way to introduce new vegetables to your child. Get them started with recipes like this when they are young and they will love fruits and veggies forever.
