Chili Campfire Bake Recipe (1)

This isn’t my typical meal, but I’ll tell you what – my kids LOVED it! It was very quick and easy to make – I even let my husband throw it together. You can also make this over the fire with a rack that sits on the fire and skillet. Either way you make it, it is fun and delicious!

Made this for the familyWas a big hit and so fast and easy to make.

  2. Laura says:

What is your favorite brand of chili from a can?

  3. Cyd says:

We usually buy Hormel or Stagg Chili.

  4. Cyd says:

    This is about 6 servings.

  5. Ruby Bowman says:

    Normal with beans

  6. Tara says:

This was a bit odd. I will try again but I'll half the macaroni. The pictures here seem heavily "chili" like but using the exact measurements, mine was very heavy on the noodles and sparse on the chili. Otherwise, it's an easy and tasty (if you add a bunch of condiments like I did- onion, sour cream, avocado etc.) dish for camping. It's not fun to clean up the pot though if you are tent camping ;)

  7. Cyd says:

Hi Tara. You can totally add more than 1 can of chili for your liking. And we totally agree on cleaning the pot with tent camping. We come prepared to wash the pot though!

  8. Rinda Maddox says:

So, you are NOT cooking this over a campfire as the name implies? My campfire is made from wood. No burner to "turn to high." Love the idea but need to adjust to a wood fire.

  9. Cyd says:

In the top of the post it tells you how to cook it over the fire - You can also make this over the fire with a rack that sits on the fire and skillet. Hope this helps. You will of course need a rack. We use one when we go camping and cook over the fire. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Heavy-Folding-Campfire-X-Large/dp/B074MZCNWJ/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1535400026&sr=8-9&keywords=campfire+cooking+rack

  10. Brandon says:

How long do you simmer it when you put the chili in?

  11. Momma Cyd says:

Just until it's heated through really well. Maybe for a minute or two.
