15 stitches = 4″ and 10 rows = 4″
Crochet the first five rounds of the the 0-3 months size crochet hat. It should measure close to 4.5″ across the middle.
→ If your swatch islargerthan 4.5 inches, your gauge is looser than mine. Try using asmallercrochet hook.

- This free crochet beanie pattern starts with a magic circle.
- The chain at the start of each round doesnotcount as your first stitch.
- At the end of each round, join with a slip stitch to the first double crochet stitch.
- Repeat instructions between asterisks (*) for the remainder of the round.
- You are crocheting in the round.
- You are working from the top of the hat down.
- You can make your crochet beanie longer or shorter by repeating or leaving out the second to last row
