Do you know what everyone looks forward to when it comes to the holidays? Many people enjoy decorating their house for the holidays, so they can spread more cheer. Sometimes the prices of decorations can be overwhelming, but not when it comes to Dollar Tree.
Dollar Tree first opened in 1986 and was known by many different names like K&K and 5 & 10. Then, in 1986, it was changed to Only One Dollar, and then in 1990, it changed to Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree first came to be a store where you could buy anything for $1, and there’d be no tax added to it. That was until it was changed in 2021. Dollar Tree then also added a plus section which includes items all the way up to $5. Dollar Tree is still a very cheap and beneficial company for many different reasons. This can be shown by how many years they’ve been in business. Dollar Tree is a local business and can be found in the Struthers Plaza. It can also be located in 48 other states.
Dollar Tree dropping their Valentine’s Day items was one of the best things they could have done because now they have a better chance of people shopping at their store for Valentine’s Day items. This is good for them because this gives their business a head start on their holiday sales. This brings all different ranges of customers in, from teenagers to older adults. When it comes to looking for festive decorations or candies, bringing in the different types of crowds is definitely needed. It would continue to bring in more consumers by having a variety of teenagers and grown-ups shopping there for holiday decorations, such as their Valentine’s Collection. Dollar Tree knows that if they continue to bring out their Valentine’s decorations right after the holiday before that, they won’t have to worry about there being a huge money decrease throughout the year.
Another good thing about Dollar Tree dropping their Valentine’s Day decorations is that it can give their customers more time to buy their items while getting the best deals. This is good because customers always love getting the best deals on holiday decorations and also love spending a decent price on it. This gives their customers time to think about the type of decorations they truly want to spend their money on, without them having to worry about all the decorations being gone immediately. Dollar Tree knows that if they continue to bring out the Valentine’s decorations early with cheaper products, then they’ll never have to worry about overstock being an issue for their job.
Dollar Tree releasing their Valentine’s Collection gets a 5/5 rating. It’s something that is severely needed for those customers who need time to really think about the decorations for the holidays, as well as those who want cheaper prices.

Baylee Miner is a Sophom*ore at Struthers High School and is 15 years old and she is in Journalism I.Baylee’s favorite food to eat is chicken tenders and fries from Chili’s. Baylee enjoys History and Journalism, and her favorite teacher’s this year are Mrs. Mickler, and Mr. Dailey. Baylee’s favorite tv shows are “All American”, “Umbrella Academy”, “Ginny & Georgia”, and “Heartstopper”. Baylee’s favorite singers are Rihanna, and Olivia Rodrigo.Baylee has a bunch of hobbies and things she likes to do. Baylee likes to go on walks whenever she can and enjoys playing soccer in her free time. She loves going to the beach with her family whenever she can, and loves spending time with family and friends as much as possible. She also participates in some things inside school. These activities include, Interact Club, Future Teachers Club, and Pep Club. Some of the things Baylee really enjoys about school is when there are pep rallies, and when the spirit weeks are going on because people can become really creative with the spirit weeks.Baylee has quite a few goals for this year as well. She hopes to maintain good grades in school for the whole year, to try to participate in everything she is free to do, and to make sure to make new friends along the way. Baylee is looking forward to all upcoming pep rallies, spirit weeks, and the student sections in the sporting events such as football, and basketball. Baylee is also looking forward to making new friends, and maintaining the great friendships she already has, and any future events to come.
