Unique, cozy and beautiful – The Wrapped in Love free crochet pattern is a wonderful addition to a spring and early summer wardrobe. This wrap has a unique stitch pattern and is very versatile. Make up this free crochet pattern and wear it as a wrap. You can also grab a belt and create a kimono kind of effect. This is a great piece to make or give as a gift.

This pattern is made with an easy four row repeat. The pattern is worked in one piece, so no sewing skills necessary. This would be a great piece to snuggle up in on a cool spring evening.

Materials

Lion Brand Yarn Pound of Love Yarn Taupe2 Skein (19 ozs used)

Clover Amour Crochet Hook, Size J, 6.0 mm

Needle or smaller hook to weave in ends

Ch – Chain

Dc – Double Crochet

St(s) – Stitch(es)

Slst- Slip stitch

3DcDec- 3 Double Crochet Decrease (Instructions under Special stitches)

Special Stitches

3DcDec – Yarn over, pull up loop in next stitch, yarn over, pull through first two loops (2 loops still on hook) Yarn over, pull up loop in next stitch, yarn over, pull through first two loops (3 loops still on hook) Yarn over, pull up loop in next stitch, yarn over, pull through first two loops, yarn over pull through the remaining loops on the hook.

Dimensions

Finally piece measures 37″ in width by 59″ in height. The height is the length that will drape down you front and back. Width is from elbow to elbow.

Gauge

Your gauge is 6 double crochet wide equals 2 inches and 4 rows of double crochet is 2 inches tall.

Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first st, skip 1 st, 3dc in the next st, (skip 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st) repeat from (to) 58 times. Skip st, dc in the last st. (179 dc)

Row 3: Ch 2, turn. Dc in each stitch across. (179 dc)

Row 4: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first st, ch 1, 3Dcdec over the next 3 sts, (ch 2, 3Dcdec over the next 3 sts) repeat from (to) 58 times. Ch 1, Dc in the last st.

Row 5: Ch 2, turn. Dc in the first st. Dc in the ch space, (Dc in the top of 3Dcdec, 2 dc in ch space) repeat from (to) 58 times. Dc in top of 3Dcdec, 1 Dc in ch space. dc in last st. (179 dc)

Note: I wrote the instructions out for each row, but really you are just repeating row 2-5 until you reach the end of your 27th row.

Note: Row 28, you will not work the complete row. You will turn early and continue working your 4 row repeat on shorter rows. This is the area that goes behind your neck.

I highly recommend blocking this piece. Once your ends are woven in, dip the entire piece into a tub of water. Squeeze out as much water as possible by hand. Then wrap the whole piece in a bowl and squeeze more water out. Repeat with a new towel until the piece is as dry as you can get it.

Gently lay the piece out on a dry surface (nothing wooden or that can take water damage). Straighten our the edge and gently pull the piece until you are happy with the finally shape. Once the piece drys it will hold this shape better.

Blocking the piece helps the wrap hang nicely.
