Are you looking for a unique and beautiful crochet blanket pattern? In this post, I have put together a collection of 20 interesting blanket patterns that I love!
This round up explores a bunch of pattern ideas, the blankets are made up of a variety of different techniques and stitches – including filet crochet, overlay crochet, interlocking crochet, Tunisian crochet, blankets that have a lace pattern, and even those made with individual motifs (think granny squares and hexagons!) that a joined together to make a blanket.
They are a good mix of modern, contemporary and classic patterns. You will be able to find a pattern as simple or as complex as you’d like. There are beginner friendly patterns and some that you will be able to challenge yourself with. They feature unique stitches and techniques and show off the creativity of the designers who designed them. I am certain that you will find something you like!

Tatsiana is one of my favorite designers and is a master of the Overlay Crochet technique. This beautiful stained glass blanket uses overlay crochet and is made up of post stitches to create the outline and a beautiful background of any color or colors you like.
2. Wacky Weave Squares by Hilda Stein

This blanket is made up of lots of different squares using the Interlocking Crochet technique. You can choose to make all of the squares different or repeat some to make the blanket your own.

This Indiana Afghan is one of my favorite patterns from her collection. It uses a different set of colors for each section so the individual sections stand out!””
5. Madhu Blanket by KnitterKnotter
The Madhu Blanket uses overlay stitches and Tunisian techniques to create a honeycomb effect. The border is created in sections after the middle is complete. This one looks a lot more complicated than it actually is. There are a lot of fun elements to it so, if you are comfortable with Tunisian crochet, this is a fun project to try!

6. Little Lily Baby Blanket by HaakMaarRaak

The little Lily Baby Blanket is made of individual hexagons which are all joined using the join-as-you-go method. This can be a great stash buster or if you have one of those color packs that contain tiny skeins of multiple colors, this would be a perfect project to make with them! The pattern comes with a photo tutorial along with written instructions to help you make your own blanket.

Here’s a bonus that is one of my most popular Tunisian Crochet patterns. It is a sampler blanket that is made up of different squares which all use a different Tunisian stitch. The pattern is designed to teach Tunisian crochet. You start with the very basic stitches and work your way up to some complex techniques.
